UX/UI Design
In November 2018, the Cincinnati Museum Center reopened its doors to the public after a renovation. For this project, I worked on the UI/UX of two feature pieces, Birds are Dinosaurs – a touch screen interactive about bird evolution – and A Changing Planet – a projected globe controlled by an interactive touch interface.
The main objective of the interactive is to show visitors the story of how dinos gradually changed and transitioned to birds, a transition that was not linear but progressive. This interactive allows visitors to examine each of the species' features and how they changed over time.
After selecting a species, visitors are presented with labels that are connected to the specific features users can explore. Visitors can also slide left or right to explore and compare more specimens.
Touching a label takes the visitor to a feature page that explains the feature and clearly highlights it on a silhouette. From there, visitors can slide left or right to explore and compare features across species.
After developing simpler sketches, high-fidelity wireframes made the process streamline and easy for the bird illustrator to follow, it also allowed for prototyping and testing.

This interactive station is composed of two elements, a 48" projected globe and a user interface that allows visitors to control it. For this piece, coordination between the controller and the globe was very important.
